Emi Hillman

Emi's musical journey began at the age of five, training with Yamaha Music Malaysia alongside specialist private classical piano instruction. After earning an LLB (Hons) from Coventry University, she spent over two decades building a successful corporate career across financial services and energy sectors in London’s Square Mile before returning to her lifelong passion for music.

Today, Emi teaches students from beginners to Grade 8, combining a structured curriculum with a personalised approach that adapts to each student's strengths, goals and learning needs. She founded Emi Piano Studio, an award-winning, 5-star-rated music studio trusted by families across Orpington, Bromley and beyond. Students enjoy a fun, creative, modern approach to learning, achieve a 100% ABRSM exam pass rate with numerous Mertis and Distinctions, regularly perform at recitals and community outreach, and win prizes at local music festivals.

Emi is a member of the Independent Society of Musicians (ISM) and the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA). She holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate and is trained in Child Protection in Education (Music) and Workplace First Aid.

Emi Piano Studio won Best Start-Up at the Above & Beyond Bromley Business Awards 2025, recognising the community's trust in our unique approach and the work that we do.

Outside the studio, Emi enjoys travelling, cycling, hiking, world history, theatre, cooking and interior design.
